Just an fyi...
I placed an order with aquariumplants.com on thursday asking them to deliver this coming thursday since I'll be home and "ready" for them. Friday I had a message that if I wanted them, they could send them on Friday. I called back and declined the offer since I wouldn't be home. Very friendly people! I had previously called to ask when they ship plants. Again, very friendly and professional. They ship any day as long as the arrival date will not be sunday but I was told that if the order is placed by Tuesday for a Thursday ship date, it had the best chance of being fulfilled w/o any substitutions.

I ordered some hygro (sunset/polysperma), dwarf sag., E. tennelus, R. indicta, reg. sword, and glosso. I'll keep you posted on how it all arrives.

They only gaurantee if shipped overnight.

Len, I did think to order an extra glosso for you, but didn't think it would be o.k. shipping a second time. Hopefully (for you) it will do well and I can send you some later, or I don't really care for it and I'll send the one I get later (as long as it's o.k.). The big "hopefully" though is that it's really glosso!;)

Oh yeah, they had a buy 3 get 1 free bunch plants sale. 6-8 plants per bunch and most are 9"-11" tall. Prices are EXCELLENT too!

Thanks for the thought. Leopardess is sending me some of her young ones, so we'll see what kind of a mess I can make out of them. :)
Got these short stubby fingers..........not real conducive to planting itty bitty plants, but we'll give it a shot.
I think you will be pleased with aquariumplants.com. They seem very anxious to please.
And I don't think there's a minimum order either.

Len

I've purchased plants and traded them several times online.
Shipping overnight is uber overkill...when I trade plants I send them via regular parcel post...have NEVER had a plant arrive that didn't live.

I think you're right geoff but when placing a larger order from a place that only gaurantees overnight, I like the insurance.
The few times I've received and sent plants through regular mail, they were fine.

No problem Len. If/when I'm ready to get rid of some, I'll let you know.

Received a confirmation shipment email yesterday and received the order today. WOW! 6-8 stems per bunch? NOT! The Hygros were at least 12 per bunch and the Rotala closer to 16-18 per bunch! The dwarf sag. and chain swords (E. tennelus) are sold as 10 plants per order ($4.90 and $5.99 per order respectively). A couple extra of each tagged along. My one amazon reproduced in the mail too;) . And the glosso...$1.69 for 10+ stems...this stuff is tiny! No way was I going to count all those stems. The "plug" had to be close to the size of a quarter, I'm guessing at least 50 stems. I don't know how glosso is suppose to look, but it looked a little yellow to me.
All in all, aquariumplants.com gets my 110% vote for online plant orders.

If I order from another vendor in the future, I'll have something to compare to.

Yeah, I ordered some Riccia and Glosso from them a while ago.

Here's what I did that was really stupid. I had them delivered to my office. Let's see, they ship on Thursday which means that they got in town on Saturday. Oh, I never work on Saturdays. So I got them on Monday.

I was really worried that they wouldn't be alive, but they were in great shape!

I really like them and I'll definately buy from them again.

For the most part I find that plants I have shipped to me arrive looking better than what I find in LFS. One of the exceptions so far is a compacta sword that arrived looking way way better then any I had seen locally. It arrived with 4 clusters already looking like they could be separated and planted individually.
