Well I just finnished vacumming my gravel on my 1850g and it took me just over three hours, nothing new ,I just thought I would share that with everyone. Just out of curiosity how long does it take to vac your gravel in your tank or tanks? All up it took me about 5 hours to do all of my tanks, I normaly do them on seperate days but today I was extraodinarily bored . :coffee:

O.O How often do you vac?

5-10 mins maybe. My snails and corys do a good job cleaning up.

wow 3 hours! i guess im in the 5-10 min range also. That is an awesome tank you have though.

I usually vac about once every month and if I am feeling good I will do it twice in a month.

How in the world do you vaccum that thing? With a snorkel? I have a 55 and get my arm wet...do tell!

I use a very long pvc pipe conected to a gravel vac. The worst part is when you first start b/c you know you have a long road ahead of you. Talking about getting your arm wet, I have to get in the tank so that I can vac the back part which is exceptionaly difficult to do with all the drift wood in there. But hey it is all worth it. :dog:

What do your cichlids think of you getting in there?, have they ever bit you? Cichlids get really curious when something new is in there tanks.

Better yet, what are you going to do when there's a full grown Xingu lower mac in there? :shark: lol
