Just r/o or r/o+DI???

Thanks guys for your input. It is in line with what I was thinking. When I do the mix at w/c, overall the water is at 3kH, 5gH. The only thing I was thinking/trying to reduce was gH, to about 3, same as kH. I thought that maybe r/o+di vs. r/o would play a role in here. It seems to me that with r/o mix to tap water, I can reduce kH much faster, but gH seems to resist and stays at around 5 as Tom had suggested.

I just got an Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Filter System form pet smart. So far i have filtered 100 gallons of water and the KH and GH are at 2KHD and 2GHD. The bad part is that the unit is only made to put out 10 gallons an hour.

Depending on your water you should change you filter every 25 to 250 gallons. i have hard well water and I thought I would have t change the filter after about 75 gallons but it's still kicking strong.

Under general info just remember pet smart will match the prices of there web sit if you print out the pages for the stuff you want. With a 30 day return policy.
