i have just started a 50 gallon reef tank. it has 45lbs of lr and 30lbs of ls. it cycled for close to a month before adding any of the lr or ls. the only thing in with these are a couple shrimp. i have the coral sun bulbs, protein skimmer, powerheads, etc....

what is the recommended ph, nitrate, etc... for this tank?

is there special liquids that i have to add to make the lr and ls really boom and grow stuff?

please just any info or suggestions would be appreciated to help me along my voyage.

oh yea this is not my first sw tank, this would be my first sw tank dedicated to being a reef tank.

ph around 8 - 8.3ish is ideal. nitrate at or as close to 0 as possible as well as phosphates. there isnt any magical juice to make the lr and ls grow goodness. a refuguim always helps with that tho. what corals do you plan on keeping?

any suggestions????

You need to plan your tank around what corals/life you want in it. Stonies need the halides, softies are fine with T5/VHO/PC. Decide which fish/inverts are compatible with what corals you want. Use D!ck Boyd's Chemi-pure, it helps with everything.
