Just upgraded from a 10 to a 30 gallon

Since you have SE Asian fish already, I'd go with that theme:
3 more pearl danios
3-4 kuhli loaches (striped or black/brown - either one will work)
A single pearl gourami or male betta (I like dwarf gouramis, but they are so overbred that most die quickly - if you can find good stock, they're great.)

I think I am going to go with 3 more pearl danios, 3 more glowlights, and a pearl gouramis.

I had a dwarf gouramis, and it died within 2 months, it was pretty bad i think it had internal parasites or something, it was like its stomach just exploded.

Sounds like a nice tank to me. Your experience with Dwarf Gouramis matches mine and about 75% of the people I know who've bought them in the past two years. It's sad, really.
