Well, I have heard of people who had problems with 'em and of people who had it last years...it appears I am one of the former as mine is on and off at its own whim...bulbs are fine, rubber seals have been replaced, no joy...replacement ordered grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

they are known to be unreliable, unfortunately a new unit with t5 will set you back over £100GBP...and the whole ballast has to be replaced!

i have a juwel 300, had to replace 2 bulbs in under 6 months from new

try switching your lights to marine white and blue - brings out the colours in your malawis

btw trying your java fern idea - looks good!

good stuff ! (the java fern - mine is thriving...plus my vallis is hanging on in there.

on the lighting, I've been using a pink tinge with white; I don't have that many blue fish though - more of an eclectic mix, which goes nicely under that combination.

just sent query as a 1 x 25 watt was indicated which is a bit ickle however they have since emailed me back to say that they don't stock 'em anymore anyway.

Juwel Lighting

My Juwel lighting rig just gave out. There is a two year guarantee, just contact your merchant. Apparantly it is a common problem.

Mine's just given out...1 month after the 2yr warranty expired. Tried contacting retailer but all on training...hope for amicable solution :Angel:
