ok so i have a pair of gardneri biassa killifish in a 10 gallon and was wondering if i could add 1-2 pairs of pygmy sunfish. it would be in a planted 10 gallon.
thanks

Yes, but would add only one pair of pygmy sunfish.

They might eat any fry the pygmies have, and from my research, Pygmies are VERY shy and will hide from other fish, rather than be encouraged into the open. They do best in species tanks, especially if they are wild caught. I am going to get some Pygmy Sunfish in the fall and am setting up a heavily planted, low-light species tank for them inside a paludarium with orchids and tilandsias. If you get wild caught ones, don't be surprised if you don't even see them for several weeks/months. Tank-raised ones are a bit more personable, but still rather shy.

I doubt there would be any serious issues, but there's always a possibility of disputes.

they would be tank raised i think bc id be getting them from jettajockey

well gardneri biasse killifish dont get much bigger then them do they? (i dont really know bc i cant find any infor on them online)

Possibly because if I am not mistaken the actual name is Fundolopanchax gardneri...'biasse' might be a variation, collection site, or some sort of subspecies. According to fishbase they get to about 2.5" while pygmy sunfish are only around 1". That still may be too large for them to feel comfortable.

yea im pretty sure that's their scientific name. i think ill ask jetajokey in a PM. i was really wanting the everglades pygmy sunfish though.
