On a side note how do you guys dechlor when filling with a python from a faucet? Dechlor for the whole tank volume? Before filling or after?

I make my own dechlor and put a ton in as I am filling. I probably dose 10X the amount I should.

I buy Sodium Thiosulfate Crystals. When you dissolve them in distilled water the solution will dechlorinate water. It is exactly what the Dechlor brand Dechlorinater is made from. I buy it in 9 lb buckets.

Does it take care of cloramine? What do you do for ammonia, I've tested the tap water here before and it did have trace amounts in it if I remember correctly.
