kenyi changing color

Ok, I've had a kenyi for about 6 months now and it has always been a very bright bluish purple, so I figured it was a female (about 3") now it is getting a yellowish hue to it could it be a male? I know as juvies they are all the blue and they change as they mature but I figured it would of changed by now, so is this normal?

Thanks, I figured that...but I had him for so long and he never changed so I thought it was a girl all this time. How long does it take before he is all yellow, or will he just get the yellowish color to him?

I believe Kenyi's are both. just matters on who becomes dominant. I had quite a few change colors even at the 6" mark. what you should be worried about is raising all the fry the can produce... That was extra money and feeders, I sure do miss them

Well right now I just have the one, I wanted to see what I had before I got more. Actually I ended up with quite a variaty (took them from a cousin) this was just one of the crew I got...long story, still working on trying to correct the misjudgment she made after 6 months.
