Hey all,

I have 3 kenyi cichlids, around 1 1/2 inches.I was wondering around what size you would recommend they be added to the mbuna community tank.
The average fish in the tank is around 3 inches or 3.5 and the largest would be the zebra cicghhlid around 3.5 or 4 inches.

P.s. Yes i am aware the agression level of the Kenyi's

Thanks alot!!

Thanks for the advice. I think I will end up waiting until next weekend or maybe Christmas Break (for me) a.k.a two weeks until i add them. Anyway, Thanks Diana.

What size tank? What is the current stocking level?

I remember his post from not too long ago... I believe it is a 55 gallon? I could be wrong.... and I'm too lazy to search it up :p:

EDIT - I caved: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61737

While they might be okay since they are smaller than most of the mbuna, you'll likely run into problems when they reach maturity ;) But you already know that :D

I have better luck adding the smaller guys to my tank than I do any decent sized ones. The smaller guys can get into the many cracks and crevices my 4-6"er's can't. So, they end up having a better chance of survival.

You should be okay to add them in ;)

Re-arrange the rockwork in the main tank just before you add the new fish, to disturb territories and give everyone a 'new shot' at establishing territory.

VERY good advice...

Rearranging territories also promotes a situation where each individual is more concerned with finding and staking out a territory for themselves and less concerned with protecting a particular spot and picking on the homeless.

Thanks for your input. Planning on a major rearange next weekend. Thats when ill add them. :D
