I have two Angelica Botias in my fifty five. It is a planted tank with three angels and some other fish to help with the algae struggle. Anyway, does anyone think these loaches are snubbing my snails. I can see very few these days and every week when I change the water a few decaying snail shells go up the siphon tube.

Any thoughts?:idea2:

It's very possible.....I'm not sure I've ever heard of this kind of botia but I do know that there are several botia species that do take a likeing to snail-snacks. It is often that people will buy different types (eachg to his or her own liking) will buy some type of botia as a snail control source.

I have a Botia striata. I used to see snails a lot before getting him. I hardly see any now.

Thanks for the replies, I knew about the Clowns, they are keeping the population in check in my boys ten gallon. The botia's have the same mouth structure so I thought they may be guilty.

Good for them. :dance

You thought right. Zebra, golden zebra, angelicus, clown, they all kill em :>

...not that I have all of em or anything ;> Oh yeah, I do :>
