killer fish

okay i havent really dealt much with fresh water just mainly salt. I have a 90 gallon tank with a big canister filter. What kind of fish can i put in there that will be pretty mean. I want to be able to feed it feeder once in a while and watch them tear it to shreds. sounds mean but all my salt fish where like that. (had an eel, shark, stingray, leaffish ++)

cichlids like oscars, jack dempseys, red devils, covicts- and my favourite- Bichir fish...not very aggressive but cool to watch eat. Needle fish I hear get aggressive as well as beauforts botia...many different species of catfish become nocturnal prowlers but you have to stay up late to watch the feast. Clown Knifes get mean I hear, but they also can get to be four feet so you must be wise when thinking of obtaining one. Certain types of coi get mean, but I would go for some african cichlids...look in their forum to find out more... :rant:
 
if u want some mean fish the red devil is a very mean one i had one that chased 2 fish at the same time, jaguar cicchlids r mean also like Nuriel said oscars can get mean, Green Terrors are just as mean as red devils dempsey are cool to well good luck
 
The wolf Cichlid as in Dovii........tank might be a little small for this but might not. As long as a 24" fish can fit the dovii is a good choice or you can Try a midas(maybe a bared one from Jeff Rapps) or trimac or a jaguar(which is smaller of my choices 12" or so)ALL of these will defently eat ANYTHING that will fit in its mouth. Most of them will attack the Glass as people walk by.
 
A 90g would be small for a Dovi, IMO borderline on small for a jag, but definately workable with a single jag. If you like rays, there are some really awesome freshwater rays. a 90 isn't the ideal shaped tank for a ray, but would work for a smaller variety.
 
oh yeah i hear the aba aba is a mean as hell fish too.
 
I would also set up another smaller tank that you can raise or at least QT your own feeders. Don't rely on the one sbought at a pet store as they are often diseased.
