Killifish eat Ramshorn Snails?

Okay, so I have an overpopulation of ramshorn snails in my 10 gallon tank. I like the little buggers, but the two orignal snails have turned into many many baby snails. I know this is common problem. I also know that they are multiplying because of excess food and waste at the bottom of the tank.

I haven't been able to gravel vac the 10 gallong tank well since I introduced some red cherry shrimp. I am trying to let the shrimp breed and I am afraid that the vacuum will suck up the tiny nearly-invisible baby shrimp.

So... I was wondering if my Killifish would eat the snails if I dropped a few (of the snails) into my 29 gallon tank (see signature for tank populations). These Killi fish have been known to eat small tetras and entire wafers whole, but would they eat baby snails. I don't like the idea of just killing the snails. I would be happier if they were to become food for another fish.

Last choice will be putting in some cucumber and using it as bait to catch and dispose of the snails.

Thanks.

No... I certainly won't put the RCS into the tank with the Killis. The RCS live in the peaceful happy little ten gallon with the neons.

Oops, I misinterpreted you. I thought you were going to drop a few killies into the snail tank, not vice versa. My bad! Well, I think it would be worth a shot... Do you feed them pellets? They might mistake them as a pellet and eat them. My Tiger Barbs almost fell for that, but they just spit the snails back out.

No, I don't feed them pellets, but they have eaten sinking wafers, Von Rio Tetras, and even a house spider my husband gave them.

Get assassin snails as these are the only ones that can eat ramshorns but will leave the shrimps alone.

Edit: So I skimmed post 3.;)

I put a couple of baby snails in and they ate them. Very cool.

Ehh, I just squish them when I get the baby (or full grown) pond snails out, quick and painless and controls the population a bit.

i feed my platys snails once in a while... i might even feed them one right now!!!
