You might try bleaching the driftwood, anubias and all, in a 1/20 bleach to water mixture, for 3-4 minutes.
I've done this several times, and my anubias doesn't even flinch at a quick bleaching like that (even sending out new leaves within days of the bleaching), but I doubt java moss would hold up nearly as well.
As an added bonus, it will kill off any BBA that may be on the wood, lol
