My king betta is only a couple months old and he seems really bloated and not doing well, i only feed him 6 days a week, 3-4 pellets a day, and alternate with bloodworms. What can i do to save him, and prevent this with future bettas.

He is in a 5 gallon tank with live plants and a hiding castle, and an aquaclear 20 filter, water changes about once every 2 weeks.

What do i do?

a pic or more description of what he looks like and wat hes doing please
cant get a picture, but hes really bloated and cant swim so hes head first down in the back of the tank, if i tap the tank he tries to swim he cant really he just falls back down, he didn't eat this morning

are his scales sticking out?. I would check ur water params. also add some aquarium salt to the tank or put him in a bucket with a air stone and water with aquarium salt added. u might want to do a partial water change.

his scales dont seem to be sticking out he is just really fat and seems to be sinking like a weight. how much aquarium salt should i add. should i keep salt in the tank just as a precaution for any future bettas incase he doesn't make it?

Sorry about your Betta.
Sadly, I have a sick Betta AGAIN right now,..... fungus... it has taken the life of every betta I have had in the last 2 months and I have done everything right.
Seems to me, from looking at this section of the board, those lil guys are quick suseptale to diseases?? I hope yours makes it.

i think 1 tsp per 5 gallons should do it. every day if he makes it add a 1/2 tsp salt per 5 gallons. i think that wat i did wen my betta got bloated. the salt takes out extra fluid in their bodies. if you can get him to eat something by soaking it in garlic juice. hope this helps.

ill add the salt, but i heard bettas dont like salt? or is it only for when there sick, can i keep it in the tank regularly to prevent disease?

I would feed him a piece of a cooked shelled pea. This will help clear out his digestive track and remove any blockage that could be causing the bloating.
