I walked in this afternoon to see two of my striped kuhlis dancing together with their mouths touching. It looked like they were playing. One might have been chasing the other, but they wernt swimming away.

They were in the front corner and just swimming up and down, resting in the same spot every time they came down. They werent swimming fast, but more of a leizurely gentle dance. They did this a few times before my son came in the room, I guess they heard the vibration and they stopped.

Mine do that too, but this wasnt a dash, it was so gracefull and playful at the same time. I have never seen them ever do anything like this before, It was so cool! I hope they do it again, so I can tape it.

"kissing".

When they were swimming so leisurely their mouths were touching, or they were rubbing barbels while they were swimming, maybe its their way of affection/stimulation? I have a 9'' Pleco that loves bubbles on his belly, and Dojos that like to swim in my fingers and rub on me, fish are so cute!

They do spawn sometimes but I'm not sure what happens, wrapped around each other I think. I have females that are noticeably fatter with a greenish tinge to their bellies but I've seen pics of HUGELY fat females.

Corys use their barbels as part of foreplay/spawning so it wouldn't be too surprising. Sounds nice whatever they were up to. Maybe it's time to break out the baby brine shrimp, bloodworms, candles etc :naughty:.

My Kuhlis only dance at night when I can't see them. I have 3 Gravid females with a greenish belly and if you can look close enough, you can see the tiny eggs in there waiting to be fertilized. I hope my Kuhlis dance one night and the next morning, I find thousands of green eggs.
