Kohi loach

Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to get my kohi loach out from beneath the gravel. its like he doesnt exsist, but when he does come out he is really cool. 30 gal. mostly small fish
any suggestions would be appreiciated!

They do like to hide. They do better and are more likely to come out if there are several of them. I have 3. They also feel more secure if they have hiding places...and if they are new they will hide until they feel more secure in the tank. That all said...you will not se them a whole lot. they do hide. In one tank I have 2 black ones: I only see the same one over and over the majority of the time. the other 2 hide.
I have striped ones in another tank..and I see them out more, but not much. Depends on the other fish they are with, too. If they are intimidated they willhide.

They also should be in groups of three or more. My kuhlies rarely hide, even during the day. Most of the time they just wriggle into the plants and sleep there.
