IN STOCK AND ON SALE TO AquariaCentral Members!

This incredible net is designed especially for handling large fish without injury. Just clasp the open bottom end of the sock net, guide the fish into the net, move the fish to the new location, lower the net into the water, release the bottom of the net, and lift it free. New metal handle with foam grip and softer exiting netting. Use a magnet on the metal handle to store net off the floor and on a wall ( like a kitchen knife rack)! This net holds water and keeps fish in water when transporting! Also makes a great tool when needing to fill large fish bags with water and not get your box wet. Just drop the net with water in the bag, pull up on the handle and watch every drop of water stay in your fish bag and not on your box! =)

How does this sock hold up to say a 28"+ ripsaw catfish and other fish with sharp hooks and/or pectoral fin spines?

Edit: I have not sedated my fish in the past, and nets don't stand a chance against my fish. They either get trashed or trash the fish. I had someone recomend kio socks, but it would seem to me that they really aren't meant for large spiney catfish and would just get shredded as well...

Great question Wet Whiskers! The only other fish I have seen firsthand use our nets would be on a wolf fish. He did take a few bites at the net however never trashed through it. The nets are designed to hold water however should a spinney catfish puncture it then the net would act like a poly bag....leak. I have yet to see one shredded. I can imagine that some species of fish will not take well to any kind of handling hence sedating would be something to keep in mind. Nothing worse than seeing a fish hurt themselves. Hope this helps some and if anyone would like to chime in please do=)

Thanks. I had a friend move large aros in koi socks very successfully, but that is all the info I've had on them. We are currently using a sterilite tub the acts as a giant strainer. It works, but not great, and I'm really not interested in the towel wrestling method with these sharp guys. I could see this working very well for many of the monster/large fish though.
