Instead of posting two separate posts, I just though of posting a single post... Anyways, I was thinking of getting some Channa bleheri for my tank, but there doesn't seem to be any available here and I wouldn't like to go get them online, also, I've already made arrangements to sell the 2 goldfishes out of the 29G which is 2 days from now. One goldfish tank is enough :D Anyways, I would like to think it's for the best.

Anyways, on with the stocking level...

For the 29G, I was thinking about a pair of normal-coloured kribensis with 3 upside down catfishes and 6 congo tetras. This might be planted with some anubias on various driftwoods, and decorated with some fake plants (or more live plants if I get better lighting) and some caves for the breeding pair of kribensis and for also the upside down catfishes. The current filtration will either be an AC70 or an AC 50. I was thinking of removing the decorative aquarium gravel that I got for the goldfishes in the first place and replacing it with play sand (therefore, raising the necessity of removing the UGF powered by two Elite 801 air pumps)

Also, I'll be adding the pair of albino kribs (hopefully, a breeding pair soon) into a 20H with 7 male common guppies (which would cause the kribs to be less shy of the surrounding from my observations of the normal-coloured kribs). I'll probably either change the number of guppies (removing some males while replacing it with and/or adding common females). Depending on the filtration of the 29G, the filter will probably be an AC50 (if the AC70 is on the 29G), or AC30 (if the AC50 is on the 29G, and the AC70 on another grow-out tub for the Albino Krib frys, when I get them). I'll probably have the same type of set-up as for the 29G where I'll be adding some anubias on a driftwood, some caves using pots, decorations, etc. and then planting it with some fake plants or maybe more live plants (elodeas or vallisnerias) if I do get some better lighting.

Would both of these set-ups okay for the fishes considering that I would be doing 20% water changes weekly on each set-up? Should I add more Congo tetras to this set-up or would I be able to get another fish (I'm looking for something that's from the region, maybe an African Butterfly Fish)? If I would be able to increase the number of Congo Tetras, by how many?

I'm sorry for the lengthy post.

well you could add an angel to the 29 gal and have the school of congos and the kribs at the bottom along with the upside down catfish

I have a breeding pair of Kribs in a 20 gallon High and they took over the tank. I had to find new homes for the other fish and let the Kribs be in a species tank. I am not sure about having other fish if you plan on a 20 gallon high. When Kribs are spawning they can be quite agressive. Of course that is just my experience with the species.

I agree with Miguel - breeding kribs can be right royal little buggers.

For the 20, plan to have somewhere to move the extra fish if it doesn't work out (a 20 high isn't very long - some fish that stay only at the top might work better).

In the 29, I think your plan sounds fine. I wouldn't think of adding an angel to that set-up unless I really didn't like it very much.

I do, the tub with the krib frys, that's pretty much where I placed them before.

I currently don't see a problem with other fishes when they are middle to top dwellers, once they journey and look for food on the lower level, that's pretty much when they start attack them (The regular-coloured ones, I mean).

As for the albinos, they are currently small (3/4") when I bought them and have only reached 1" now, so they still have a long way to go and I'll be in no rush.

I don't intend on keeping angels, as they seem to be too large for my likings. I prefer smaller fishes in the type of fishes (eg: I like the Channa gachua, but not the large Channa micropeltes).

Thank you for the info.

the 20g may work since the guppies are top-dwellers anyway.

on the 29 i would think you may run into trouble. my breeding pair of kribs even kept my school of barbs confined to one corner of the 46g tank. mine may just be exeptionally territorial but i could see the same thing happening with your tetras.

Breeding pairs....they get there own tank, one way or another.

Say no to the ABF.

I'll take your advices jessicar and rbishop. I'll just place the albinos in the 20H (which they are currently in now) and keep the regulars in their 10G breeding tank (hasn't caused any problems related to aggression between the pair, yet).

Thank you for the replies everyone.
