So... one of my kuhli's is swimming upside down, mostly just lying there on the top of the water.

he's apparently got some sort of bubble inside him, or a tumor or something. but when i tried to fish him out, he slowly swam away (i saw a bubble exit his rear). he's back to floating on top now though. the distended belly thing is a bit freaky... and this is not regular behaviour...

help?

water is fine, just tested it this afternoon... weird. the other kuhli's (at least the ones i can see (!)) are ok. weird stuff.

given that it was the day after thanksgiving, i could sympathize with being so completely full i thought that i was going to explode... but seriously, very strange.

oh yeah, i did see it pass a couple of air bubbles, but it ended up dying anyhow (after swimming around frantically in its last few minutes.)

actually, it died... thanks for trying!

weird. now i only see three of my original six... i have no idea where those guys go. i had already rescued one from the filter (eheim ecco canister) but when i checked it again last night it wasn't in there.

i had also taken steps to make sure they couldn't swim up the intake tube-- do they have a chance at swimming up the outflow? it's a little above the water level, so they'd really have to swim really really hard to go up that

I don't think so. These are species that hate currents so I don't think they would make a dare on it.
