I used a piece of nylon panty hose until the remaining kuhlis fattened up (I think they're now too big to get in the intake). The problem was that I had to continually clean gunk off the nylon. I think in hindsight, I might have tried something less fine...like a scrap of nylon window screen or something. Other members might have better suggestions (?).
