Are they good around dwarf crays in a ten gallon tank ?

Are they ok around hard water with a ph of 8 ?

Should I not get one due to having hard water, ph8, and dwarf crays?

Thanks for answering my Questions.

Dwarf crays max out at about 1.5 inches and have tiny pinchers. So I wont

let it go below 78f then. Will they be ok at 86f for 8 months out of the year.

You live in a tropical climate?

I personally would not keep them above maybe 82 degrees, seems a bit high. But fishbase is a good site so I would think it would be okay.

Just remember that DO2 levels get less and less at higher temps. Make sure you have sufficient water agitation for gas exchange.

I live in redding california, were eight months out of the year, most of the time, we are above 100f. This city gets alot of sun.

I have a powerhead hooked up to a sponge filter that has an air tube that allows for a little white water at the surface of the tank or anywhere i direct it. I also have an air pump with an airstone that i can use.

The tank stays at 84f if i have a fan and frozen two liter bottle of tank water.

I do have a/c but the tank musn't be in what is considered the house so it is in a room in the garage.
