Land snails

you could always buy a snail.....no1 has to know about it and i dont think someone would call the cops bcuz OMG YOU HAVE A FREAKIN AFC SNAIL. hell most people dont even know what they are. now im not saying rebel against the law or anything but if you want one bad enough.
You don't have my neighbors;)

well, its not so much about buying as it is importing from africa

"Ding-Ding-Ding" We have a winner.

Sure you could keep one illegally but I don't think there is a large black market demand for them here in the US. ;)

ha, snail black market. i can imagine snail dealers in the alleys, snail grow houses, snails disguised as simple house pets, and a special snail-bust task force. ahh the mobs would get involved, the lettuce industry would crumble, it would be chaos...

how can we track them down with such flawless disguises?

the GLS must be illeagle for some reason. they may have very small pop. in the wild.

Giant African land snails are illegal in the US and some other countries due to their potential as a devastating invasive species. While they are legal pets in some countries, under no circumstances should they be kept as pets where illegal to do so, and they should also never be released into the wild. They are also prolific breeders so if you have more than one you also need to be extremely careful about disposing of the numerous eggs produced. The smaller of these snails (Achatina fulica) grow to be about 3-4 inches long (shell length), while the larger ones (Achatina achatina) can have a shell up to 10-11 inches long (in a snail this size the body stretched out would be about 14-15 inches!).

guess that means that they are illegal because..........well i dunno?

Here's a neat little land snail I found while camping over the summer.

from the PDF:
In 1966, a Miami boy smuggled three giant African land snails into the country. His grandmother eventually released them into a garden, and in seven years, there were more than 18,000 of them. The Florida state eradication effort took 10 years at a cost of $1 million.
:werd: Invasive species are no joke, people.
