Large bulk dry fertilizers

I just went through this with aquariumfertilizer.com. They do provide you with instructions on the fertilizer bags, but you will have to do some additional research to figure out exactly what you need to do. I read through Rex Grigg's website which was pretty helpful.

Here is how I approached it. I figured out what I was currently dosing via Seachem Flourish's product line and what dry ferts I needed to replace them. After I figured this out, then I figured out how much of the dry ferts I needed to dose. Should have figured out the dry fert dosing before I ordered ferts. I ordered way too much phosphate, and way too little potassium. Live and learn.

Glad I found this thread....good info. To repeat a question from luckydud13, curious as to what products to order? I am looking at AquariumFertilizer.com now and they have a ton of things listed.

In a nutshell, I would have to mix the product to support several tanks. Some advise on this would be of great value as well. Having not ordered this stuff before, do they include a "recipe" of sorts on how to mix?
Here's what you would want:

CSM+B Plantex (trace)
Mono potassium phosphate (KH2PO4)
Potassium nitrate (KNO3)
Potassium sulfate (K2SO4)

A lb. of each should last you over a year.

I'm currently using the Estimated Index (EI) method to dose. I find that it is working very nicely. The dosing calculations for this method can be found below...

Yep, I ended up buying 2 pounds of everything because shipping was the same, but I didn't buy any of the KNO3 because I have plenty of nitrate in the tank just from the stocked fish. Found out that I don't really need to supplement phosphate that much either, so the 2 pounds I bought is probably going to last a decade. Regarding potassium, I should have bought 5 pounds, maybe 4.
