I have a 100 gallon tank (6'x17"x19") with angels, tetras, platies, blue dempsey, gold barbs, clown loaches, cories and there is a lack of fish on the upper parts of my tank. I am looking for about 10 3"+ tight schooling fish to occupy these regions. I was thinking some larger varities of killifish...giant danios would stress out my angles to much due to their fast movement. Any other options that you can think of?
Thank you in advance

most fish you get that is that size won't school tightly because of the porportions of space and a lack of a percieved threat. but here are some that I can think of that might fit the bill. :)

congo tetras get almost 3 inches.
silver hatchets get to 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches depending on specific species and will be at the surface of the water.
silver dollars would be a good candidate getting to 5 inches and being skittish enough to school more might be what you want unless you have a planted tank.
barbs as a group tend to be larger than many of the available tetras checkered barb gets to almost 6 inches and is peaceful
scissor-tailed rasbora get to 6 inches though only the females reach that.

A buch of giant danios would do the trick. When cycling my 90 I got 6 of these guys and I tell you I was tempted to get about 25 for the tank and call it done. They are so entertaining to watch and they go like hell all the time. And they stay to the upper part of the tank.

:o hehe..just re-read the bit about your concerns with the angels. Maybe some zebras then. A little smaller but the same behaviours I think.

If you want to spend a lot of money you could get some Discus there large and school great.

My store just got in a lot of brilliant rasboras....i picked up 25 of them hehe and they are schooling great and occupying the upper part of my tank so i think they are great
