laser light

Yeah, but can an arch welding tool have the capability of blinding a pilot on a plane with hundreds of passengers causing it to possibly crash?

I'm all for freedom, but lasers that can blind a pilot of a passenger airplane is a serious threat to life. Yes, a few morons will ruin it for everyone, but I don't want to die because of those morons.
Actually its not the morons Im worried about but those that would jump in line to be deputized by the government for handout's of official badges and yoyo's to help weed them out of society.

I hate the notion of a nanny state, and I firmly believe in several conservative values such as the right to bear arms and pro-life. I am as anti-socialism as they get.

However, I think its the morons we need to worry about when a landing aircraft that can be destroyed, hundreds of lives lost because they have a laser. What the heck else do you think will need to be done to prevent this from happening? I'm sure you'll be able to tolerate that moron while your plane is plummeting to oblivion.

Where are all these planes dropping out of the sky due to laser pointers. I think I can only remember one instance where a pilot said he was temporarily blinded.

I don't even hear about auto accidents caused by laser pointers, and if there are any I bet the driver had been drinking and was trying to scapegoat his way out of a DUI.

shining light for cat/dog/fish to chase = funyay

shining light into anybody/thing eyes = dumbcruelstoopidboo

Then don't fly.

If you want to ban lasers then no more tv remotes they use invisible laser light to signal the tv. My cats also love laser chase time. On day the figured out where the light comes from and jumped at me to try to catch it lol.

My dog loves chasing sticks but my fish just run from it. I don't get it. Maybe I should try the laser pointer? They don't respond well to leashes either, and the fish-scratching post just floats in the tank unused. What a waste...

For my fish, I don't think I would use it. I don't even want to try, but for some reason, I just see them not liking it and fearing it.

My mom's cat Tac (yep, that's cat backwards) LOVES the laser pointer, although like many have mentioned before, its all about how you use it. Purposefully leading the cat towards danger with it (i.e. aiming it towards a wall abruptly where your cat could run into it) is WRONG. But Tac loves it. To me, he doesn't fear it. His eyes get wide only because "target acquired"... haha. And he can literally go 6 feet up a wall with a good running start. On average he'll get at least 3 feet up the wall trying to get it.

And I would never EVER shine it into his eyes, even to see his cool night vision reflections.

Cruelty to animals should never happen. Unless they sh*t on your pillow. But even then, you probably deserved it.

I used to have one on my key chain that someone gave me. Never used it and has since been thrown out.

You ban LASER pointers now, and you later realize your DVD driver uses an even more powerful LASER. BAM, no burned disc for you!
