LAST STOCKING QUESTION FOR A 15 GAL

I have also been researching stocking a 15 gallon in this forum, if you haven't noticed. I also want some ADFs, too :)

have you thought about a school of zebra danios? they look pretty and are small and very inexpensive. Somewhere I read that they are active swimmers and fun to watch. i don't think they hurt ADFs either, also -

I think that endler's livebearers are very attractive fish. easy to care for too, based on what i have read. Take a look http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=1584&N=0

I am giving serious consideration of these fish(if I can get past the price(they are more than zebra danios). They look very colorful and I think a that a bunch of them would look really pretty. i don't know if they are a schooling fish though. I think the fish is very hardy too, that is a plus.
I noticed that they won't ship female endler's livebearers. maybe I am cynical but I want to suspect that they will only ship males so hobbists cannot breed them.

I need to research corys, they look interesting but I don't know if I could keep them with plants.

Let me know, pm if you like, what you decide on and how it works out. It may help me decide on how to stock my 15. :)

i just want to say that the reason i want a tank is for cory cats. i saw them and thats when i first wanted a tank so ill pretty much sacrifice anything (as in which fish to stock with, not the fish themselves) in order to have cory cats in the tank. i was thinking a group of 4 pandas, or the schawaritz or whatever they are called, a couple afd's, and some tiger barbs, but some of you said that they get too big so maybe serpea tetra instead. does anyone know if this would work? and do cories actually kill or harm plants? if so, ill just get some plastic ones haha. thanks guys

I wanted to get some corys for my 15 gallon(I am in the planning stage of stocking as well) but I choose agaisnt it b/c I figured they will uproot my plants or eat my shrimp/adf (if i get either of those)

Sure you arn't thinking of cichlids?

Really though, uprooting plants? Eating shrimp?? Eating ADFs?! These things can barely fit a shrimp pellet in their mouths at adulthood (for the larger ones), let alone an ADF.

heres my final idea for stocking a 15 gallon and i truly hope no one has any exceptions because i think this would be great....
3-4 panda cory cats
1 betta (i was going for a gourami but maybe a betta is a better option)
2 adf's
and maybe 3-5 cherry barbs
and if barbs are too much, cherry shrimp

I didn't want to make any assmuptions about eating habits based on mouth size, for all I know a fish with a small mouth can bite and tear it apart into little pieces and then eat it.
Guess I have been reading too much on puffers and cichlids lately.I just assume the worst really :)

pygmy corydoras may be a good choice. you can have a fairly large group of them in your tank, and still have room for some other fish such as a betta or dwarf gourami. since they only get to about ¾ in. long, you can easily have a group of six in your tank, probably more.
