About 2 months ago I purchased a Lawnmower blenny place him in my tank (up for 3 years) He started out fine, eating well and getting along well with his tankmates. Recently I notice that he was becoming very thin. I did all the reasearch and nothing seemed to be working. Nori (from asian mkt), Nori (from LFS), Marine One sinking pellets, Mysis, Brine and so on without any interest from the blenny. I had almost given up when I saw him perched on the algea clip so I took a small piece of Nori and offered it directly to him and to my surprise he actually started to eat a little, then he got carried away with attacking my fingers. He will not touch the nori in the clip but now he is feeding from my hand, he will also feed if I wrap small pieces around the floating thermometer and secure it with rubberbands. Just thought this might help others with similiar issues.

Use a rubberband to wrap the nori to some small pieces of LR. Sometimes we just have to do these things for our fish. Do you have any microalgae (hair algae), etc. growing on your rock. That is their natural diet and he is probably a wild caught fish that doesn't know what a veggie clip is. Silly fish :)

I will try it on the live rock, I have a couple dozen small hermits and 4 Mexican turbo snails. Any thing on the bottom gets taken over by the CUC. Thanks for the advise. I never thought I would have to hand feed a fish to keep him alive. I felt so bad for him, if all it takes is for me to stick my hand in from time to time that is a small price to pay for such an entertaining little guy.

Great attitude. We often forget that these fish are taken from their natural home to give us pleasure. The least we can do is provide them with the best life we can.
