Lawnmower Blenny to fat?

obesity is bad for all animals.

obesity = excessive intake of nutrients not utilized by the body.

There is a reason why public aquariums all measure their food before feeding them to the critters.

No immediate danger to the fish's health, just shorter lifespan.

Although not a significant problem, an occasional fasting is recommeded for most fish species for the longevity of the digestive system.

Oh but the way, occasional fasting is good for human beings as well, a little FYI.

My LMB looks very similar as well! I'm just happy he's eating well - he puts up with a good bit of aggression from the Kole tang. It is rather entertaining though- when I feed the tank, he darts to the LARGEST piece of meaty food offered. Doesn't touch the hair algae :-P

I dont notice any problems with him swimming. He goes all over the tank just fine. I only feed about every other day too, so I dont know how he is getting this fat. I will keep an eye on him and see if I notice an problems with his behavior.

I agree with that, I just don't feel that this particular blenny is obese.

The best I would rate him is pudgy but not fat..

"Does this aquarium make me look fat?"
