Hey, up until last night my brigs were always very active, going from one side of the tank to the other constantly. Last night, when we got home, I could only see one and he was closed up in his shell not moving at all. I checked about an hour later and he was still in the same place. I pulled him out and gave him a sniff (lol) and he didn't smell like dead fish. His shell is open today but he is still in the same place. I have yet to locate the other one. Any ideas as to why they would suddenly be so lazy.
I cleaned the tank today and will test the water in a bit so I have param's. Just thought someone might have an idea.

they rest, mine was floating for 3 days. I was worried but on ce in a while he looked out. today he is all over.

I found the other one. Haven't been able to see if he's moving or not. I'll check again in a bit. Thanks for the answer, I won't worry for a few days then as long as I see their shells open

I have to admit that the problem that you are describing has got to be the worst to deal with when owning snails. This is a true story: I had a Jade Brig lay in the same spot for 2 days. My Mystery snails have their own tank, so I know that no fish is bothering them (which might make them close up for a while). I was so sure that he was dead, and put my hand in the tank to gently touch him to see if he would close completely shut, since his trap door was slightly open. Right at that time my phone rang, and I was on the phone for about 30 minutes. I went back to dispose of the "dead snail", and there he was, eating some snail jello. If my snails are laying there motionless, I don't dispose of them until they have that horrible odor. Sounds disgusting but that is the only way I know they are truly "gone".

Try an algea wafer. No live snail can resist an algea wafer. If it doesn't go for the wafer, then its time for the 'sniff' test.
