Like they are illegal in several states:

At least 10 other states outlaw the African clawed frogs without a special permit — Arizona, California, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Virginia and Washington.

i can't believe i made a typo in the title like an idiot.

anyway, i've seen clawed frogs for sale a few times locally, so i was surprised to read this.
