Do you use them? I would think it would keep the heat off the top of the tank. I can order them for mine if I like. Any benefit for the plants?

i ordered some mounting legs for my light but you ant use it with a glass top its for open tops

Why can't you use it with glass lids? The legs won't fit? (I'm thinking of doing something similar with an acrylic, and those have a built-in top plate.) These look like they'd work with a lid.

Good question. Why not?

I went yesterday and got 2 pieces of wood cut ( small 2x 4 pieces) and spray painted them, cut a grove in the middle for the light ends to sit in and it worked wonderfully! wood was free :)

Depends on the legs. Some of the legs grab the side of the tank like a vise and have a hinge to flip them back. Others just rest on the tank trim. The ones that just rest on top you can use a glass top with.

That's the sort of thing I'm worried about. The reason why I want them, other than they look nice, is I'm concerned during the summer my temp will get too high in there.

Pic? :)
