the other day i did a water change. cleaned the filters and the tank. than i rearanged it. after i noticed there was only one leleupi. i dont know where he went but he is gone. i looked in the rocks under the rocks. around the rocks. and then i figured hes not in the tank. so i looked around the tank cuz he is prone to jumping. i also checked the fake tree stump i took out and hes not inside it. hes not located around the tank. so i thought maybe he got vacuumed up ( i highly doubt it but it never hurts to check ) and he wasnt out there. there isnt anything big enough to eat him. and he is a fighter so he could definatly hold his own. i dont know where he went to but he is gone. hes probably dead by now but i would at least like to find his body.

What a puzzle! I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you find him so at least you'll know.

Is there sand in the tank if so he may be dead and buried in the sand also check around the location of the tank once they jump out they will flop all over the place and you will be amazed how far they can travel when in need of water..

Did you check your filter, if appropriate?

I have, in the past, found small clowns & Yoyo's in my AQ, unharmed I might add :)

ill check under the sand. i looked all around the tank and rooms. no sign of him.

One leleupi isn't bad, I've lost 8 Von Rio tetras w/out a trace to be found when cleaning the tank. The only thing I can figure is that the loaches ate the corpses. Tank is covered with a full hood, no openings, and filtered by a canister and air-driven sponge filter.

well i do have a plec, a clown plec and a 6 inch featherfin cat. so if he died they probrably ate him. but i dont see what could have killed him. he was very healthy and colorful, always swimmin

Ya, that'd what puzzles me too. None of the Von Rio's looked sick, old or generally unhealthy. They all had healthy appetites too.

Its the syndrome of it and Murphy law is always in full force with a tank "if it can go wrong it will in a heartbeat" sometimes fish just die from not being able to cope with the glass box situation in life..
