I was thinking about purchasing this pleco for my discus tank mainly because he looks awesome. But I want to know some info about eating habits. I've found that they only get about 4" and thats about the extent of my information. Does anyone know anything about these little guys?

Yeah, they are great plecos. I have 6 of them in my 125 gallon discus tank. They hid while the lights are on, but when I put their food out, they come out, even if the lights are on.

They are very pretty, up there with gold nuggets and zebras.

As for food mine get shrimp pellets, carnivor pellets, bottom feeder pellets, algae discs and zuchini, which they seem to love. They also get any left over blood worms / black worms / brine shrimp / mysis shrimp / beef heart that they can find.

These could be hard to find, especially wild caught, due to the current temporary ban Brazil has in place on pleco exports. My understanding is the 134 is on the list prohibited for now. The are not allowing the export of any plecos that are labelled "sp", which the 134 is.

These fish can vary greatly in their appearance. Some will fade as they age while other will retain their vibrant coloration. They are omnivores with a predilection for meaty foods.

I had to let my pair of wild caughts which I had for several years go to make room for other stuff. They were gorgeous, imo :-)
