Let's beat a dead horse!!

Have you tested for phosphates? A high level of those from the tap added a degree of cloudiness to my former 20g tank until I threw in some anacharis.

But test first; if you don't wish to invest in a kit, ask your LFS or a friend to test for you.

I doubt it's phosphates. I've had no problems with the other tanks I have or this tank when it was a 29 gallon. In my 29, you could hardly tell there was water in there.

I don't remember if I've said or not but this is a fully planted 75 gallon tank. The plants are still growing and look good (the ones that I can see).

Thanks for the advise everyone...I'll keep you posted.

Just wanted you all to know that my tank is much cloudier now. It's nearly 3 weeks of cloudiness. I can't see any of my fish. Not even sure they're in there.

Does anyone think that some bio-spira might help make this quicker? I'm out of options. About a week ago I added a bunch of carbon to the filter and it did nothing. Accu-clear did nothing. I've since taken the carbon out and added twice as much floss and twice as many bio-balls. Thought it might help. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm not changing the water...just letting it sit there. It looks horrible. Ammonia and nitrite are still zero.

thanks,

Jimmy

Jeco.. how is your water now, i was reding this old post and i am having a similar problem.

I'm probably flogging a dead horse as its 1 month later and it should have cleared by now but did anyone ask if he washed the "sand" and do you have the type of fish that dig or disturb the media. With sand and energetic fish it will never clear. May not be algea or bacteria just fine particles constantly stirred up.
