I have not yet tried white but I do have one that is light blue and I love it. I have a tank that was made with a mirrored back, and my barbs almost drove themselves crazy trying to school with the "fish" in the back of the tank. I have since tore that tank down.

I just painted 2 of my 10's white today, actually I'm in the middle of painting them now.
They are going in the bedroom with the stock lights so I wanted to brighten them up . First time that I'm trying white.
I plan on a couple goldies so I'm thinking it will look ok, We will see.

My thoughts also. I prefer the black backgrounds to the blue and have never really thought about white. I have had mirrored backgrounds and thought it was nothing but an ugly mess, but to each his own :)

I painted red streaks with a dry brush, and then went over the rest in black, it breaks it up a little. and its not overwhelming since the red it just a hint. Gives it depth

on my 70g that i sold i had a lightish blue up top fade to a dark blue on the bottom i thought it looked nice
