Do you folks know where I could get some? It's used for fish with a red worm on the fish's anus and the skinny stomach. I heard it's very useful in hospital tanks when some of the other resident fish dont have the problem they wont get any negative effects from the dose..

A link to the product would be great!

Levamisole hydrochloride is quite elusive for those in USA. If you cannot find levamisole hydrochloride at all, your other alternatives are flubendazole and fenbendazole. Find Tramisol which is used as sheep bolus. It should be available in USA.

Regarding the red parasites found in the anus of the fish, they're called either Camallanus cotti or Camallanus lacustris. Both can be eliminated by the internal parasite treatment mentioned earlier. They are not originally red as the red coloration has been obtained by sucking the host's blood.

try your local Tractor Supply Store
they have A Levamisole
swine injectable and used to have a drence, but you need to look

Just an aside, it works great. I only lost one fish and I believe that was because of trauma from the parasite. The other fish acted as though nothing was going on. It was nice to know that overdosing the tank is really hard, if possible at all. Good luck.

Any of you folks have some?

Already been covered beautifully by Lupin but this stuff is indeed difficult for the average aquarist to get. Your local feed/liestock supply is also likely to have a source but you'll get more than you need and will have to perform dosing conversion for water use.... let us know if you get from this source and we'll assist with tha math (if needed).
