correct me if I am wrong..but aren't the reading suppose to be
ammonia 0
nitrites 0
nitrates 'low' mine read 5

my nitites should be at 0 but the LFS told me to just do a 20% water change and it should go down right away. The Nitrates should be at 10 or below the told me. So i should be ready for a least a cleaner crew by tomorrow.

Renee:)

ah..the LFS..they love to make sales..LOL

I just was patient and waited for the tank to cycle..which actully took about 4 weeks(2 weeks sooner than I anticipated)

now the ro/di is on the way and I will be able to do a large water change and add fish.
maybe some corals..

So would it be ok to get a cleaning crew in there or should i wait another week or so? Should i do the water change or wait for the klevels to drop on their own?

Renee

I would personally let the cycle complete naturally and then perform a water change afterwards.

Anyway, glad you're looking forward to your new inhabitants! What do you plan on getting?

it just gives you more time to research coral, fish snails, shrimp..LOL

Not to sure yet...I would like to get some star fish in there. But i'm not to sure how they would do with the fish. Some have told me they would be ok and some have said the complete opposite. I guess it really depends on the type of star fish i get any suggestions. I would also like to get a yellow tang. I have a 55 gal. About how many fish could i fit in here?

see, use the time to research.

how many fish will depend on the size of the fish and needed room.
plus a couple more factors(aggression is one I can think of)

believe me..I know how tough it is to wait..,my wife, who loves marine tanks, has the patience of a boiling tea kettle. (did I just say that)

Yeah i think that's a trait for most women.:) I am the exact same way. I definately do not want an aggressive tank. I did that with my FW. I have a 72gal with A 4 huge fish and can not add any new ones. They will definately get eaten as soon as they go in. SO i want fish that can all live together nicely and happily.

I would like to get some damsels, tangs, maybe some Anemones. feather duster, blennies, and i goota get at least 1 clown.

How does this sound??
