I paid a visit to said LFS to find signs on the tank that read not for sale, the clips were full of algea and there were no dead fish in any of their tanks...makes them look kind of empty...The fish were still emaciated, however they were eating. I hope this teaches them their lesson, however sadly it will probably just happen over and over again, but we can hope!

Good on you and your local animal control! I'd write a letter praising them and send it to their Director and the City council. Speaking up for good agencies and companies is just as important as speaking out against bad ones IMO. A pat on the back from their boss could be all it takes to encourage the agents to keep going the extra mile.

ha this is great I would buy you a beer if we were close, and if you were legal drinkin age, if not though, I'd buy you a milkshake!!
 
I didn't receive any stares...not sure any of them are capable of putting 2 and 2 together as they don't even understand why it is important to feed a fish. Like I said before I dont purchase anything live from this LFS I only go there because my groomer for my dog moved there and they are the only ones in town that sell cut to fit filter pads.

I spoke with the supervisor when they called me back and told the supervisor that I appreciate it greatly and all of us fish lovers hope that all Animal control units would react this way. It truly was great on their behalf.
 
I would have just grabbed some of their food off of their shelves and fed the fishes, since they get the fish so cheap as they say im sure food is the same.... Sadly said fish store around here is the same way with their new :headshake2:aquatic specialist:headshake2: giving horrible info to customers and not knowing how to properly care for any of the tank inhabitants...:wall:
