****** Lfs

that's a bummer about the gouramis. It's good to pick out the ones you want from a tank, but sometimes the coices are tough when trying to get a pair because young fish can be pretty androgynous.

Take bolivian rams for example. they look exactly the same until they get to about 2-2.5 inches, when the males start getting the longer rays on the top and bottom of the caudal fins. VERY tough to be sure you have a male/female pair until you've had them several weeks.

gouramis are a little easier to sex, but mistakes can be made. Hopefully you can find a good home (or LFS) to send one off to. :)

listen guys...

i understand abt my tank, the gouramies were put in the tank when i was away. I cant really get rid of fish at the moment. and any way where wud i tek my fish lfs doesnt take adult fish.
Get a larger tank for them. Not that crazy, many of us have done it to help rectify mistakes that were made by us or by the LFS. I would think that even with a male and female you might see some pretty nasty fighting in that size tank. Just a thought.
Good luck,
Mary.

If you would have actually recieved a male and female they wouldnt be fighting each other because they would be too busy taking out the other fish in your tank. Gouramis can be pretty territorial, especially if you have a breeding pair in such a small tank. I would say get rid of the gouramis or some of your other fish.....and there has to be a LFS that take adults in your area, they make quite a good profit because you are just looking to get rid of it and they can sell it as a more rare find.

Im also guessing you didnt just get these fish if they are now adults but your LFS doesnt sell/return adults, which if true would lay more of the fault on you.
Or maybe im reading your computer slang wrong.

did you take your medicine today flag fish, your crazy? i think you may have taken the "I can't type pill"

my lfs gave me a firmouth when i asked for a pacu there retarded

I know I'm "hijacking"' this thread on this issue, but robert333, do you have any idea how large a pacu gets? I know this is an "accident" on the LFS's account (although as a relative newb I do know what a pacu looks like, and consider it my responsibility to know what a fish I'm looking for looks like), but are you planning on taking it back?? Even if you are *upgrading* I doubt it'll be to a tank large enough for a pacu. Just checkin'! ;)

With that type of gourami, a single female is the best addtion to a community tank. Too bad you can't take them back.

its a real bugger

they say its because i have no proof i bought them from there. it aint achain stre either. aswell my dad will not buy me another tank.

It seems they think you are trying to return the fish instead of trade them in. Of course they wont return them without a reciept, I've never been to a LFS that will.

Call all your area LFS and see if any of them take trades, if not then post them for sale/trade on craiglist and anywhere else you can think of online. Chances are at least 1 store will trade for fish, maybe not cash though. Just give them a sob story about how you want the fish to be happy and you would like to trade it for a couple smaller more compatible fish.
