As much as I hated loosing Gulp to HitH.......we are really excited about getting the chance to try something new (sorry Gulp....
). After spending a bit of time researching, I decided to go with African Cichlids. I went to Pikes Nursery's yesterday and bought their broken/scrap slate, and busted up one stepping stone (the rock was much cheaper at the garden center
), then spent WAY too long trying different stacking combos to get something that looked slightly natural, but has plenty of caves and tunnels for the fish to explore. This is what I came up with:
The pic stinks, and I had to use photoshop to lighten it up enough to even see anything (the flash is horrible, as well as the camera), but it's as good as it's going to get right now.
This is what it looked like before the change, when Gulp was still around.
I spent a good amount of time at the LFS yesterday learning as much as I could about the different types (still have a LOT to learn.....), and went back today to pic up the new occupants. Here they are, waiting to be released.
(8) "Assorted African Cichlids" (when I have a decent camera I will be back to see if I can get help identifying them)
(1) Yellow Peacock
(1) Pseudotropheus Demasoni
(2) Preacox Rainbows
(1) Julidochromis Marlieri
