Through all my experimentation with lights on my peacocks a 50/50 bulb makes the fish look the best. I have tried java ferns in my 55 gal tank with a 96 watt 50/50 and they sprout a few new leaves and then die. I have tried a bulb that is in a better spectrum for the plants and the fish get washed out by the light and the colors look bad. Any advice for growing java ferns or some other plant and have the fish look good? I have been struggling with this for a while and and would appreciate all help.
