Light 6700K vs. 10000K and algae

I understand why you are a bit timid with your CO2. It's your Red Sea needle valve. An inexpensive mod is to run a better quality needle valve inline. A good one is the Fabco NV-55 with barb fittings. You open the stock needle valve wide open and use the Fabco for control.

You could also use a Swagelok/Nupro/Parker metering valve or an Ideal needle valve. You can get these with an optional micrometer handle for fine tuning.

I should be getting a few of those NV-55s next week and have the standard clippard hose barbs (with the single barb) to go along with it. Aprox price should be about 4 dollars less than that site.

Left C, that EI Light article is great.

Do you know about Fabco coming out with a hexagonal shaped needle valve with 1/8" NPT ports vs the #10-32? The "insides" will be the same as the FV-55. There is a strong possibility that this will happen.

You can thank Tom and Greg for that one. It is the version that I use because I have soft water.

Most GH Boosters supply Ca, Mg and K. Some, like Equilibrium and others, add Mn and Fe. Seachem is working on some new products. One is a possible version of their Equilibrium that contains a N source. It is still in testing and it may or may not be released.

Yea i have heard that this might be coming around soon. I am really not sure if it will actually happen because i cannot imagine that the sales will be too too high. to justify an entirely different build of this unit.

I recently moved and have not tested my water much but I will need to find out if i have hard water or not....Judging from the amount of deposits that have been on the tanks at my place I am guessing my water is at least not soft.

Here is the engineering drawing from yesterday.
Coming along nicely.
Here is part of the 3D model from engineering:

These maps may help you.
