Hi,
right now i have two 15 w no light, one is a marine-glo( about 7000k), and one is a aqua-glo (18000k).

This is on a 20 gallons tank, so i have 1.5 w/g of water.

If i dont want to run halides or HO or VHO because of the cost (buying and running), would two other NO 15 w bulb would be enough for about anything alive ?it would give me 3 w/g.

I already have one sun-glo laying around (4700k), what would be a good add-on ? another marine-glo ? or maybe a power-glo (18000k)

Thanks

p.s. where can i find reflectors ? i have access to free mirrors if i simply cover the inside of my hood with mirrors will it help as much as a reflector ?

Adding more light wil help--in a 10 gallon tank, the depth is not as much of an issue, but even with 2 more 15W bulbs, you probably should avoid anenomes and clams. Most other corals will be okay.

Power compacts are the other good option. They don't heat as much as many other lights will, and are not too costly. Several places has the 20" PC with moonlights for ~$115. I'm getting one for my 10 that's cycling right now.

Mirrors will work for reflectors. Be careful attaching them to the hood--it can be tricky. Run a bead of aquarium sealant around the edges, otherwise water can get back there and ruin the mirror (yep, been there, done that).

You can get a 55W PC retrofit kit, with an excellent reflector, for $42 at Aquarium Hobbyist.. That will give you more usable light, and will be less ungainly, than having 4 NO bulbs. If you do a double 55W setup, you will be able to keep almost anything.

Thank you for your help, and for the mirrors thank you for the tip, but iknew it already, its what i do for a living, i am forman for Oldcastle glass.

If i add a 65 W curly in the hood, do i add 65 w to the 30 w i already have ? or there is a calcul you have to do with curly bulb ?
