light only glows at the ends?

ok, i bought another bulb of the same kind and the same thing happens. could it be the hood?

i also forgot to mention that it is a "aquaglo" and says that the light is 18K. does this mean its SUPPOSED to work like this?

What watt ballast are you using? All ballasts are not created equal, and trying to power a high watt bulb with a low watt ballast won't work.

didn't they use lead in everything during the victorian era? i mean, it's not good, but in small doses, i don't think it would be too harmful. either way, just don't break the bulbs, eh?

whats a ballast? the silver capacitor-like thing says 15/20W. the bulb is a 20watt bulb. the silver thing has a label that says $2.99. cheapo one?

i changed out the silver thing with this other hood sitting around and it works now. thanks for the help everyone.
