I'd take some but my mom has a personal thing against snails...Don't ask i don't even know

LOL!
She probaly is use to those little pesky buggers that multiple like crazy, pond snails, ramshorns.

These take a male and female to make babies and they lay pretty big pink egg clutches above the water line for easy removal if babies are not wanted.

Hmm, do they eat algae and would an angel fish attempt to eat them, cause if i could tell mom they are useful for a tank and won't reproduce like crazy fools than i may have a shot but i have to get my tanks set up first and i don't know how long it will take me to find something. and also i wouldn't know how to take care of mystery snail babies or adults...

Well winterose, they are helpful in algae cleanup and leftover food. They need a ph of 7 + for healthy shells and a calcium supplement to keep their shells healthy. They eat veggies such as carrots, cabbage, lettuce, squash, greenbeans (and all these veggies would be a calcium supplement). It depends on the angel temperment but my angel don't mess with them, mine are housed with an angel.

Promise they don't reproduce like crazy, like I said their eggs are above the water line in pink clutches, usually very visable. If you don't want babes just take down clutch by either pushing it in the water or by removing and sticking it in the freezer to make sure they are dead. A reasonable 2.5 gallons per snail b/c they get about the size of a golf ball. There are more threads here on AC that could give you more food types they will eat like snail jello that can be made at home. These snails are full of personality and too cool to set and watch clean and parasnail sail through the water. LOL

Just my .02, I would definitely not house them with angels. Angels will nip off tentacles.

Some will, that is why I stated depending on angel temperment. My angel don't seem at least bit interested in mine. I have never seen her paying them any attention. But I have seen some in a lfs with angels and their poor antennas be little nubs. Felt so sorry for them too.

well we will be setting up a tank in class soon so if there are any left by then i'll see if i can nudge my teach to get some.
