Hey I was wondering what i'd be able to support with these lights? http://www.petstore.com/ps_viewitem...wLEDLamps&utm_campaign=pscse&site=google_base

I know that these lights would support a variety of different corals, I was thinking of getting some of these corals but proably not all of them from a local seller who is taking down his tank.
A very nice Candy Cane Coral Colony with at least 10 polyps and has doubled in a year
An Orange Plate Coral
A mushroom rock with frilly mushroom colony
A leather coral
Assorted zoanthids and button polyps.


Also would these lights support any anemones? If so what kind would be best, I would probably want to go with a type that needs a little less light than others!

how big is your tank?? From everything i've heard those pc lights are good for soft corals and some lps, but not enough for sps or anemones.
 
i have that light in a 48 inch on a 55 gallon and i was told i could not keep anemones. But let someone else with some more experience tell you more.
 
So its roughly 4w a gallon on a 29 gallon. Good enough but feed the anenome silversides or krill to supplement him. Light alone is not enough.

The only thing is some may have different opinions ... I would remove that blue actinic and replace the bulbs with 10k to promote growth. Blue spectrum helps bring out color in a tank...it does help growth...sure..but not as well as lower spectrums.

its a mixed opinion among reefers about going higher K but most SPS people I know of agree that the closer to sunlight you are the more growth you will get.

Ive mentioned this before and I dont know if they make them for that hood...14k bulbs help get your blues and white spectrum...having two of those would be much better over that tank.

Still that is ample amount of light for soft corals. I wouldnt advise LPS ..and surely no SPS besides some montiporas. Some sps dont require super lighting...the plate types..but will have to be placed much higher in the tank.

Another avenue to consider..save up more cash and get a HQI MH pendant hanging over the tank. Then you could do some LPS =) I like them a lot ...Hammers,frogspawns,Gonaporas...so cool looking.

Read up on specific anenomes to.... some dont require super lights...im sure some might. If my Sebae can grow very large in a 29 gallon bio cube...im sure you can do fine with your tank.
