Light upgrade and Aquaclear question

Here's my last two upgrades. I must have researched forever before deciding on how I was going to redo my lights.

The light is a standard 24" length with vent holes. Fluorescent removed and 4 13w 6500k bulbs replaced.

I'm somewhat proud of the basket for the Aquaclear for my attempts to have as much media as possible. The AC30 should hold just short of 0.5 liters and once I make one for my AC70 it should hold almost 1.5 liters of biomedia.

My question about the basket is, does anyone have a better idea of closing the sides of the basket than using thread or fishing line? I thought about silicone due to needing to do one side, waiting for it to cure, repeat 3-4 more times, etc. Oh, I didn't use zip ties as the last time I did, they turned pink after about two weeks. Not knowing what was going on, I wasn't using them this time.

I had tried zip ties before and they changed to a light pink color in the tank after a couple of weeks. Not knowing more I wasn't willing to use them this time.

I'm going to have to make slightly smaller baskets from now on. I make this one to exactly fit and it won't flex enough to go in and out around the catch over the impeller.

That's one of my best looking squirrels.
 
Thats what I would do..thread a large needlepoint needle with fishing line and just sew them up.
 
The lights look good, but how solid is this set up?
how are the lights held in place?
I would add a reflector of some type, also there is no cover?
Doesn't look safe?
 
It looks like the light sockets are screwed to the back of the fixture, which seems fine to me, its not that much weight to support. It also looks like the light sits on top of one of those plastic and glass hoods, protecting the light form moisture.
