SpockthePuffer AC Members Jan 2, 2008 905 0 0 Pittsburgh Jul 1, 2008 #2 You don't *need* good lighting for fowlr. I just have the normal lights that come with the tank on my fowlr and its fine. If you have better lights though, more interesting life and hitchhikers will be able to live/grow.

With those lights can you do any kind of coral that doesn't need crazy lighting or do they really just promote better growth on the lr?
