lighting for a fowlr???

Im kinda confused about what type of lighting you need for a fowlr. Some say youll do fine with regular lighting and others say you need more..

What type of light should i use to get the most out of the live rock?

You don't *need* good lighting for fowlr. I just have the normal lights that come with the tank on my fowlr and its fine.

If you have better lights though, more interesting life and hitchhikers will be able to live/grow.

I also have the same question. My tank has been running good. I have about 20+ pounds of lr in my 55 gallons. my have my old tank light on timer, but I would like to buy some new lights, any advise would be appriciated.

With those lights can you do any kind of coral that doesn't need crazy lighting or do they really just promote better growth on the lr?

Hey Spock, you could do shrooms, Zoas, GSP's and some leathers IMO with that light.
