I am looking into buying All-Glass Compact Fluorescent Strip Lights, its a 24" strip light w/ a 55 watt 9325°K bulb. This would be for a 20 gallon tank growing dwarf lilly, aponogeton, and swords, and possibly others. I am running the hagen c02 system. Would this be a good lighting setup? That bulb is too much in the blue spectrum for plants. needs to be in the 5000-6700K range. Looks like that hood is designed moe for a salt tank. If you can get a different bulb it would probably work fine.
Drew, bulbs >6700k are fine for planted tanks. I have a 8,800k 96w PCF in my 45g and the plants are fine. Personally, I like the blueish look better then the more yellow or red.

Well, how about a 24" with a 65 watt, 6500 kelvin bulb, two built in fans, and hinged legs so you can flip it up without having to remove it from the tank? Its light weight aluminum alloy, (much lighter than the all glass) solid black finish, and includes an acryllic cover over the lights. Energy saving electric ballast.

Thanks for the links guys, I really did like that light from Aquabotanic.com, which would be better for my intended purpose of growing plants? The price is the only real problem with Aquabotanic light. If I got the one from bigals would it work fine?? Thanks for the input!
